The Department of Education and Training's Swimming Programs
Introduction
The Swimming and Water Safety Section
(SWSS) offers a convenient and simple way for prospective
swimming instructors to apply for work in the Interm and VacSwim
swimming programs.
Please take a moment to read the following
information on how to use the site.
NB: Online
Interm applications may only be made for
Metropolitan centres. Most country Interm
applications may be made through a local primary school.
Online VacSwim applications may be made for
all metropolitan and country centres.
For instructors who have previously been employed
by the Department, the system allows access to
an account of your record by using your unique Department
ID number, Surname and Date of Birth to log in. Once access
has been granted you can choose to apply for Interm
and/or VacSwim by selecting the appropriate
path. It is important that instructors who have worked
in the VacSwim or Interm programs do not
simply log in as this may duplicate your record.
New instructors
(those who have NOT previously been employed by the Department)
can simply log in, choose an Interm metropolitan
and/or VacSwim application and supply the
required information.
All prospective
swimming teachers are requested to supply hard or emailed
copies of all new qualifications, updates
to existing qualifications and current clearances (DET National
Criminal History Record Check and a Working With Children
Check) to the SWSS immediately after making an online application.
Failure to do so may delay the processing of your application.
Once you have completed
your online application/s please return to the Main
Menu and Log out.
Please phone the
VacSwim office on 9344 0966/55 or Interm on 93440944 for further
information.
