The Data Club First Cut software and Educational Assessment Reporting Software (EARS) provides schools with student performance information in relation to student achievement and progress as measured through the prescribed system assessments. Interpretation of the First Cut and EARS data provides valuable information that supports whole-school accountability processes and strengthens the strategic planning at the school and classroom level. Through referencing validated assessments of student achievement to empirically based progressions in conceptual and skill development teachers are provided with feedback that can assist them to identify the instructional needs of their students.
These manuals describe the features and facilities available in Data Club First Cut and EARS. They are designed to support leaders and teachers in using the software to respond to information about school and student performance for the purpose of school improvement. A line of inquiry that may be useful to schools and teachers in developing an improvement plan for student achievement has been modelled throughout the manual.
