Standards and Moderation Directorate

The Standards and Moderation Directorate provides support in raising the standard of academic achievement for the public school sector and is responsible for:

• Monitoring, through an assessment program that involves sample and whole population testing, the academic achievement of students in Years 3, 5, 7, 9 and 10.
• Providing analyses and advice for the Minister for Education and Training and the Director General of the Department of Education and Training on student and school performance over time and in relation to international, national and state benchmarks and targets.
