What is Reported
Monitoring Standards
in Education (MSE) produces public reports for the Western Australian
government education system. These are called Student Achievement
in Western Australian Government Schools.
Information on the performance of students in Years 3, 7 and 10
is reported. Within these year groups, information on boys, girls,
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander (ATSI) students and students
with Language Backgrounds Other Than English (LBOTE) is also reported.
For each of these groups, the state mean and range of performance
is described in terms of the levels of the Outcomes and Standards
Framework.
Some learning areas, such as Mathematics and English, are continually
assessed and MSE is able to report longitudinal information in these
areas. This information allows trends in performance to be observed.
The reports present information descriptively, in table form and
through graphs. In some reports, samples of students' work from
the assessments are included, to exemplify level achievement.

Reports can be obtained from MSE. In some cases, reports are available
in PDF format (see below).
