Workers' Compensation


The department has just release the new Worker' Compensation and Injury Management Policy, which includes updates in line with the latest changes to the legislation.

The policy was developed on the basis that the Department will provide assistance to injured employees as soon as possible to facilitate their return to work and provide rehabilitation of all employees who have sustained a work-related injury or illness that is subject to compensation.

In short, the policy also covers the following topics:

  • The benefits of an early return to work.
  • Relevant legislation.
  • Procedures for principals and line managers.
  • Injury management procedures.
  • Information about the Injury Management Unit.
  • Information about the Workers' Compensation Unit.
  • Lodgement of a claim for workers' compensation.
  • Entitlements of an injured employee.
