School communities use the school site for more than the general education of students, and the Department has developed a policy on Community Use of School Facilities and Resources.

The policy covers:

  • Relevant legislation.
  • Guidelines on community awareness.
  • Risk management.
  • How to determine the cost of hiring school facilities.
  • Checklists for schools and users.
  • A sample of a licence agreement.
