The Department in conjunction with the Health Department's Environmental Health Service and the Department of Agriculture, has developed a comprehensive set of guidelines to be followed when using pesticides in or around school premises.

Some of the topics covered by the guidelines include:

  • Prevention, control and pesticide treatment.
  • The different types of pesticides and their safe use.
  • What to do if a poisoning occurs.
  • A list of the more common pests and and strategies for dealing with them.
  • A code of conduct for pest control operators.
