The Department together with the Regional Technicians Group have developed a list of chemicals and guidelines for the safe use of chemicals in school laboratories.

The Regional Technicians Group have developed their own website from which you can gain valuable information regarding the chemicals used everyday in schools.

This website will also provide a contact for each member of the group and list the schools that each looks after. Also available through the website are copies of a document that complies with WorkSafe regulations listing 160 chemicals most commonly used in school laboratories. The document gives a summary of chemicals components, toxicity, first aid requirements, general use and so on.
