Tasks

The following tasks have been categorised according to the Phase of Development being taught. There is some overlap between the Early and Late Adolescence phases of development.

About the Tasks

This collection of graphics calculator exercises has been collected to assist students, teachers and parents to utilise this exciting technology to maximise student learning outcomes. The exercises have been specially chosen for Upper School TEE orientated Mathematics courses.

The collection of exercises consists of sample investigative tasks, assessment questions and tasks that should be attempted with the aid of a graphics calculator.

NOTE:

  • These tasks do not constitute a definitive list. The graphics calculator can and should be used to explore many other types of questions and exercises.
  • Although many of the tasks have been designed for a specific calculator, it must be acknowledged that the Education Department of Western Australia does not endorse any particular calculator. The tasks should be adapted to suit local needs.

The collection was obtained from Government and Non-Government teachers from Metropolitan and Country locations. A special thank-you is extended to all the teachers who contributed to this innovative project.

For your convenience the tasks have been categorised into the relevant Upper School courses, some tasks may be suitable for more than one course.
