What the Calculator will Graph

The calculator will draw a graph of:

  1. Data stored in lists which are accessed by pushing [STAT]   EDIT   [1:Edit]

  2. Mathematical expressions stored in   [Y=].

Graphing Data that is Stored in Lists:

1.   Store the required data in the appropriate lists;

  • Clear any data already in the lists you wish to use by
    [STAT]   EDIT   [4:ClrList]   ClrList[2ndL1]   (,)   [2ndL2]   [ENTER]
  • Enter the relevant data into the appropriate list, use L1 for data you wish to put on the   X-axis   and L2 for data to be put on the   Y-axis.
    [STAT]   EDIT   [1:Edit]   [ENTER]

2.   Give the calculator precise directions about what to graph and how you want the graph to be constructed.

  • Use STAT   PLOT   to give the calculator instructions on which lists it is to graph

    [2nd]   [Y=]

If it is not already activated, turn   Plot 1   on and turn all other Plots off.

1:Plot 1 ... On   [ENTER]     the following screen will appear to allow you to make modificatons to the nature of the graph:

Move cursor so that   On   is highlighted and push   [ENTER]
Select desired type - scatter graph or line graph are the most common choices.
Make sure that   Xlist   is   L1   and   Ylist   is   L2.

  • Use   WINDOW   to set an appropriate scale on the   X   and   Y   axes. Check the range of results in your lists, do you want the origin to be displayed?

3.   Graph the data by pushing   [GRAPH]

Graphs of Mathematical Expressions

1.   Enter the expression into   [Y=]
eg:   Y1   =   -63.8X   +   60.7

2.   Move flashing cursor to highlight the equal sign and push   [ENTER]   to instruct the calculator to graph   Y1,   use   [WINDOW]   to alter the scale to be used on each axis. Graph the expression by pushing   [GRAPH]

NOTE: Different plot line formats are accessed by moving the flashing cursor to the very beginning of the   Y1   expression and pushing   [ENTER]   until the desired symbol is flashing.
