Program Listing for Transformations : Geometric Properties of Matrices

The TRANS aplet premultiplies an object matrix by a transformation matrix and displays the graphs of both the object and the image. Two objects are provided, a quadrilateral and a triangle, or the user can enter their own object. The elements of the 2 x 2 transformation matrix are entered by the user. Students can investigate the transformations with the help of structured worksheets or with a more open-ended approach - both sets of worksheets are provided.
