Calculators | Casio | Program 2 Percentage Change
By Steve Ottaway, Padbury SHS Percentage Change
After opening the PROGRAM icon in the MENU the following screen will appear. If you have already added more programs it may be slightly different.
Press F3 (NEW) and type in a program name. In this case PERCENT and press the EXE key to save the name and move to the programming screen (below).
Now type in the following information. Remember to use the quotation marks (above F2) after you have pressed the ALPHA key. The question mark is found by the following key sequence: SHIFT, VARS, F4
The fourth line (shown below) is the first line of the program. The "arrow" before the "I" will store this interim result for later use in the program. The small triangle is important when you use the program, it is found by: SHIFT, VARS, F5. This small triangle will display the result of the first calculation and pause the program before you press the EXE button to resume running the program.
The following lines of text (contained in quotation marks) explain the answers that are being found and also illustrate the use of the intermediate result "I".
Press EXIT several times to get back to Program List, then either F1 or EXE to run the program. At this stage you could in fact choose to run either of your programs.
Simply press the left arrow (of the four arrow cluster) and the cursor will flash on the error in the program. In this case the A of AFTER is flashing because the quotation marks have been omitted.
Use: SHIFT, DEL (INS), ALPHA, F2 to add in the missing quotation marks and then use EXIT to resume running the program.
