- Strategic Asset Planning-building and land assets, demographics, school

- Local Area Education Planning (LAEP) - reviewing the provision of educational
facilities

- Research and Development-provision of best practice in regard to educational
facilities
- Property Management-acquisition, disposal, excision and valuation of
departmental property

CAPITAL PROGRAMS BRANCH
Key services provided are:-
- Responsible for the compilation and management of the capital works program

Responsible for the implementation of capital works projects

Provides advice and support to schools and TAFE colleges regarding minor
works and capital projects

Negotiates with school staff and community regarding priority of needs
development of feasibility studies and determination of budgets for individual
projects

Provides advice to Corporate Executive and Minister's Office on issues
relating to capital programs and appropriate building management

Manages the leases and licences with external agencies for the department

Relocation of transportable classrooms for schools across the state

Manages the provision of furniture for increased enrolments for schools
across the state

FACILITIES OPERATIONS BRANCH
Key services provided are:-
- Strategic management of schools building maintenance programs;
- Coordination of the transfer of contracted cleaning service to day-labour;
- School cleaner induction training and support;
- Strategic management environmental services and health (Asbestos, Chemicals,
pollution etc)
- Coordination of school gardener training;
