Background to the Publication The content
on the this web site was originally published as 'Landcare
in Your Hands' in 1991 by the Community Landcare Branch of
the Department of Agriculture Perth, Western Australia, (now
Agriculture WA). This publication was a joint project between
the Department of Agriculture, the Ministry of Education (now
Education Department WA), the National Soil Conservation Program
(now Natural Heritage Trust) and the Alcoa Landcare Project.
The cost of reprinting and distributing the publication to
all schools was prohibitive and so it was decided to make
this resource available on the web. In the process of converting
the data there have been major editorial changes to the resource
to reflect:
- Changes to the Education Department of Western Australia's
Curriculum Framework;
- New information on Natural Resource Management; and
Results of trials that were being conducted at the time
of the 1991 publication.
- Use of these materials
Agriculture Western Australia welcomes all usage of these

permission must be obtained from Agriculture WA. Materials
in this section are intended to inform teachers and other
interested persons about issues in sustainable land use and

information about land degradation processes and the approaches
farmers and other land-holders are using to overcome these
problems.
