The
Aboriginal Education Team consists of five positions - 2 Managers,
2 Coordinators and
2 Aboriginal Liaison Officers. The Team supports the implementation
of Central Office initiatives, Federal directions and initiatives
(through DEST), District Office teams, South West Service Area
Aboriginal Education teams, and Schools and their community. Each
Team member has a variety of roles and responsibilities.

The Manager:
•
Provides leadership and support, to advise and liaise with District
Directors, District Office Managers and staff, School
Administrators & communities,
Aboriginal Education Advisory Council and Aboriginal Community,
and Interagency contacts.
• Develops, monitors, evaluates and reviews a District Aboriginal Education
plan.
•
Implements & monitors Aboriginal Education programs.
•
Manages Federal and State funded projects, assesses applications,
monitors & reports on approved projects, eg IESIP
• Supports Central Office initiatives, eg Follow the Dream.
•
Identifies PD requirements, manages the development & delivery,
and reviews PD content and requests.
•
Monitors data on Attendance, Suspensions, Year 11 & 12 retention,
Year 8 Transition.

a District Aboriginal Education plan.

• Supports schools with the program initiatives.

Monitors and maintains databases on Attendance, Suspensions, Year
11 & 12 retention, Year 8 Transition.
