| Individual School Support |
Members of the Curriculum Team will facilitate school support to ensure that:
- Professional learning (PL) is responsive to teachers’ needs and can take many forms
- PL is not ‘one-off’ and involves action learning
- PL is always focused on student learning
- Answers to curriculum challenges are constructed, not given
- Enhancing curriculum leadership is always an objective
- Collaboration is promoted within and between schools
- Support is brokered from outside the district’s resources where necessary
|
| Whole of District Support |
A professional learning program focusing on curriculum, pedagogy, school organisation and learning environment is offered to teachers and schools across the district throughout the school year. Sessions are generally conducted after school hours and details of the PL program are forwarded to schools and published on the the Fremantle - Peel Education District Web Site. Special events such as Art Blast and the Music Festival which promote an outcomes approach and celebrate the achievements of government schooling in the district, are coordinated by the Curriculum Team.
Networks of teachers with a common curriculum interest such as curriculum coordinators, learning area specialists and early childhood educators are facilitated by Curriculum Consultants.
