Students at Educational Risk (SAER) are defined as "those students who may be at risk of not achieving the learning outcomes of schooling to levels which enable them to achieve their potential."
Curriculum Improvement Officers and Student Services personnel at the District Service Centre can assist schools in identifying and supporting students who may be at educational risk. This support can be in various forms, such as:
School personnel who have a concern about a student at risk are encouraged to discuss their concerns with their SAER Co-ordinator or the School Principal in the first instance and collaboratively determine the support required by the appropriate Service Centre Personnel.
Parents who have concerns about their children are encouraged to contact the class teacher and the school principal.
