CELEBRATING CANNING AWARDS

Thank you to all the schools who submitted nominations for the Celebrating Canning Awards. The panel received 158 nominations detailing the excellent work being carried out in schools by our dedicated teaching and non teaching staff. All awards have been finalised and winning schools notified. All nominees will be acknowledged with a certificate which will be forwarded to schools early September. Thanks again for your participation and support of these awards.

HEALTH AND WELL-BEING PART 1

Our colleague  Arnie Taylor, Principal Bentley PS, has returned from the Veteran Games in Calgary, Canada. Arnie entered the 100m and triple jump in the track events, and the 50m and 100m freestyle in the swimming. Although Arnie damaged his hamstring and ankle he went on to take part in white water rafting. Despite his injuries Arnie had a great time and has been limping and smiling since his return to school.

HEALTH AND WELL-BEING PART 2

The District Office has put together a team to participate in this Sunday's City to Surf. The team, consisting of Ross Murray, Kerry Wright, Cassandra Best, Margaret Buckman and Mark Williams and family will compete in the  12 km walk section and will be resplendent in DET T-shirts kindly donated by Corporate Communication and Marketing. Good luck!
