EXECUTIVE EMAIL WEEK 4 TERM 4 2005

YEAR 4 PEAC TESTING

The results of the Year 4 PEAC testing will be available to schools by mid November. The package will include Test scores, an outline of how to interpret the data and a letter to be sent home to parents of successful candidates.  Please Vicki Pietropiccolo, Project Officer, Gifted and Talented on 9311 0582 for further information.

MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT BETWEEN DET AND HEALTH DEPARTMENT

Further to the information which Principals have already received pertaining to the current Memorandum of Agreement between DET and the Department of Health, a representative group of Principals and District Office staff are continuing to meet with Health Department representatives to develop a Local Area Agreement. In order to incorporate a full perspective, we would like schools to consider what they believe are the identified health priorities for their local cluster area. We would also like feedback regarding services and programmes that Principals would like to be delivered by the Health Department (School Nurses etc.) in their schools.

These identified priorities will gradually influence the distribution of Community Health resources across clusters and schools in the future.

Although a draft needs to be developed by the end of 2005, the issues will be discussed and developed throughout 2006.

We would appreciate both a cluster response as well as a response from each school if possible in the short time available.

Currently the MOU identifies the priority health issues in the school setting as:

.  Developmental health

.  Physical health

.  Sexual health

.  Mental health and well-being

Please email Shelley.Peterson@det.wa.edu.au with your feedback by Friday 11 November, 2005, as to:

  1. Identified Health Priorities for your school and cluster

  2. List of Services and Programmes you would like to be delivered by Health Department within your school.
