CONGRATULATIONS CARL SANDERSON - KENSINGTON PS
Carl Sanderson a teacher colleague from Kensington PS has been honoured in the 2005 National Excellence in Teaching Awards (NEITA). Carl was one of only five out of a field of 2900 nominations to receive an ASG NEITA at a gala awards presentation held in Melbourne last week. Carl will head to the USA later this year to take part at the NASA International Space Camp, where he will supervise two Australian students participating in test flight simulations, workshops and lectures. The award recognises Carl's inspiring and innovative approach to science projects and his motivational involvement in all aspects of school life. Well done Carl.
LEILA'S REPLACEMENT
Please note that Garry Hewitt will assume the role of District Director in the absence of Leila Bothams who will be working for the Department in Fiji from 28 February to 8 April.
2005 TIMELINE FOR EDUCATION SUPPORT APPLICATIONS FOR YEAR 8, YEAR 11 AND YEAR 1 PLACES IN 2006
Principals are asked to note the closing dates for Education Support applications for places in 2006. Please read the attachment for full details. In brief, the dates are:
- For Year 8 places in 2006, applications are to be in at the District Office by the end of Week 9 (Friday) Term 2 2005.
- For Year 11 places in 2006 (ONLY IF THE STUDENT NEEDS TO CHANGE SCHOOLS TO STAY IN EDUCATION SUPPORT) applications are to be in at the District Office by the end of Week 9 (Friday) Term 2 2005.
- For Year 1 places in 2006, applications are to be in at the District Office by the end of Week 9 (Friday) Term 3 2005.
