We have been advised that a small number of principals have expressed concern
that the erection of signage as part of maintenance and capital programs breaches
the caretaker conventions, and have subsequently refused for the signs to
be erected.
Please be advised that the $65m Fixing Our Schools Maintenance Program is
considered an existing program and the contract for the signage was let some
time prior to the calling of the election.
Likewise with signage being erected as part of any capital works in schools. These decisions were made previous to the caretaker period.
We are pleased to inform you that Nicola Sparkes from the District Office gave birth to Scott Alastair Sparkes-McDonald on 19 December 2004. Scott weighed in at 8lbs and he, Nicola and proud Dad Douglas are all doing well. Congratulations from all of your colleagues.
