EXECUTIVE EMAIL WEEK 7 TERM 2 2005

PRINCIPALS' TWO DAYS ADDITIONAL PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT SESSIONS

The suite of PD workshops for Principals and  Deputies have been extremely well supported with most sessions being filled to capacity.  We thank you for your attendance and a similar suite  of workshops will be presented again in weeks 4 and  5 of next term. Our special thanks go to Barb Horan and her hard working team for facilitating the  workshops and a big thank you to Sevenoaks SC for hosting various sessions in their library.

 LEADERSHIP CENTRE REQUEST FOR INFORMATION

The Leadership Centre is seeking a list of all Acting/Relieving Principals, Deputies and Heads of Department (HOD's) in Canning Schools. This will enable the  Centre to communicate directly with staff on Leadership modules they are offering. The  District office holds information on Acting/Relieving Principals so there is no need to supply this information. Principals are asked to email Mark.Williams@det.wa.edu.au and  provide the names and  positions of any Acting/Relieving Deputies and HOD's in their schools. Your compliance with this request is gratefully acknowledged.

2005 AND 2006 NATIONAL LANDCARE AWARDS

The biennial awards recognise individual, farmers, community groups, and school students who devote time and  energy into looking after our environment. There are 14 award categories including four WA Landcare Award categories. More information on the  awards is available from Nikki Staveley at the  Department of Agriculture on 9368 3167 or the  Landcare Australia website at www.landcareaustralia.com.au .

 BIGGEST MORNING TEA FUNDRAISER

During a recent Making Consistent Judgements PD at Willow Pond, Nola Chromiak, District Curriculum Consultant, organised a BIGGEST MORNING TEA to raise funds for the Cancer Council. The sum of $132.05 was raised and we thank Nola and all those who took part in this most worthwhile fundraising event. Photos from the morning tea are attached.
