The secondary school learning environment award has been won by the Aboriginal Attendance program at Forrestfield Senior High School
The Aboriginal Attendance program at Forrestfield Senior High School has been highly successful in raising the attendance rates of Aboriginal students. Since 2002 attendance rates have increase from 63% to 81%.
For Aboriginal Parents the increased attendance rates have translated into improved and more productive partnerships with the school.
The school has created an environment in which Aboriginal students feel a sense of belonging.
