Online Curriculum Resources


The Department provides a range of online teaching and learning resources. Current services include:

DET Resources Online collection
A new service allowing DET educators to search and use a large collection of online curriculum resources, including:

  • interactive learning objects;
  • images, audio and video;
  • graphic organisers and thinking tools;
  • curriculum-related websites;
  • information about print resources.

This service is available through the DET portal:

  1. Go to http://portal.det.wa.edu.au
  2. Click "Log in".
  3. Log in using your DET ID (E-number) and "single sign-on" password. Your school administration can reset your password if you don't know it. Or you can get assistance from the Help Desk on 9264 5555.
  4. Click the "DET Resources Online" graphic near the centre of the screen.
  5. Search, view and download curriculum resources.

MacquarieNet Subscription
MacquarieNet is an online reference database with a unique Australian focus. It offers access to a variety of Australian and international information. The subscription is for all students in Years 4 -10 and their teachers, currently until September 2008.

The Le@rning Federation
The Le@rning Federation is an initiative of the State and Federal Governments of Australia and New Zealand to develop interactive, online curriculum content specifically for Australian and New Zealand schools. Content is produced in two formats:

  • Learning objects - interactive, online multimedia learning activites that support the development of a learning outcome or concept.
  • Digital resources - images, video and audio clips from national archives.
