 First StepsBuilding on the ground-breaking First Steps language resources and professional learning developed in the early 1990s, the Department has funded a revision of First Steps in English (2nd edition) and has conducted extensive research into the teaching and learning of mathematics to develop First Steps in Mathematics.Twelve literacy and twelve numeracy Service Area Curriculum Consultants have been appointed, trained and accredited to conduct professional learning modules in these teacher resources.
