Items that cannot be found on SCISWeb
All items sent to CMIS for cataloguing are input into the CMIS Awaiting Cataloguing database. These items can be searched by ISBN (or title if no ISBN), week number, or school code.
See http://www.det.wa.edu.au/education/cmis/cat/receivedsearch.asp
The Awaiting cataloguing page also includes the Turnaround time. This shows you what week the cataloguers are working on so that you can gauge when the record will be available on SCISWeb.
If the required item is listed on the awaiting cataloguing page then it means that the item will be catalogued shortly.
Items not listed on SCISWeb or Awaiting cataloguing need to be sent into CMIS for a cataloguing record to be created.
Where do I send it?
You can send items through the courier or post to
CMIS Cataloguing
Department of Education and Training
151 Royal Street
EAST PERTH 6004
What can I send in?
In order to ensure that the catalogue records accurately reflect the resources, cataloguers require the original items in hand when creating the records. We are unable to catalogue photocopies of printed material or videorecordings, DVDs, CDs, or computer software.
Before I send the item in?
Before you send in anything for cataloguing we recommend that an interim record for that item be created on your library system and then the item be lent to CMIS. This makes it easier for you to record what has been sent in to CMIS. You can track the progress of your items by entering your 4 digit school code on the Awaiting cataloguing page, see http://www.det.wa.edu.au/education/cmis/cat/receivedsearch.asp.
