The Children’s Book Council of Australia has developed an Authors & Illustrators site designed to be a one-stop place to support Australian schools, libraries and other groups in planning successful author and illustrator visits. It competently supports this aim by providing:

SA Authors and Illustrators
The Adelaide City Children's Library has a section of the website devoted to South Australian Authors and Illustrators. It contains more than forty biographies, reviews of books and a link to the author's website if they have one.
Children's Book Council of Australia
- Award-winning Australian Authors and Illustrators
  The National CBCA site contains a list of Australian authors and illustrators who have won or been shortlisted for various national awards managed by the national body or its branches. These awards include the Children's Book of the Year Awards and the Crichton Award.
- WA Authors and Illustrators
  The CBCA WA Branch site contains a list of WA authors/illustrators, their works and awards. The biographical and bibliographic information about WA authors and illustrators from Showcasing Western Australia: Authors and Illustrators for young people is also available in PDF format. Showcasing Western Australia was produced for the 6th National CBCA Conference in Perth, May 2002.

McBookwords: Authors and Illustrators on the Web
400+ author and illustrator links, including a good selection of Australians. McBookwords is a literacy organisation that provides informationfor schools, educators and librarians about children's and YA uthors and illustrators who visit schools and conferences.

Powells Books - Author Interviews [USA]
One of the world's great bookstores, (located in USA) and with a useful website. The Kids' Books section is of particular interest to students and teachers. It contains information about American Children's Book Awards, Children's Top 10, reviews and interesting interviews.
