Giftedness refers to a student’s
possession and use of outstanding natural abilities, called aptitudes, in at least one ability domain, (e.g.
intellectual, artistic or sensorimotor). Talent refers to outstanding mastery of systematically developed abilities, called competencies (knowledge and skills), in at least one field of human activity. Talent emerges from ability as a consequence of the student’s learning experience. Gifted

The site has been developed to provide information and
practical assistance to both parents and teachers for the identification and provision for gifted and talented students, specifically in Western Australian State Schools.
Sections for teachers include: |
- Identification
Discusses the process of identification and includes
an Identification flowchart as a guide.
- Provision
A wide range of teaching and learning models, and supplementary and school based strategies
and learning experiences for use with primary and secondary students, as well as a list of activities specifically for early and middle childhood students.
- Inclusivity
Attends to at-risk gifted students: "those students who may be at risk of not achieving their major learning outcomes of schooling to levels which enable them to achieve their potential."
