    Australian Children's Choice Awards
    There are numerous children's choice book awards in Australia, state based and national. In each case children are the judges, voting for their favourite book.

    Children's Book Week
    2011: August 20th - 26th
    Theme: "One world, many stories"
    Book Week is the longest running children's festival in Australia, celebrating its 65th birthday in 2010.

    Fremantle Children's Literature Centre
    Established in 1993, there are four full exhibitions of Australian picture books on display each school term. The exhibitions comprise the original artwork, as well as material from the illustrator and author including preliminary sketches, storyboards, reference materials, draft manuscripts and correspondence. Workshops are held in conjunction with each exhibition for both children and adults.

    International School Library Month
    Held in October each year.

    Library & Information Week
    2011: May 23th - 29th

    MS Readathon
    The MS Readathon is Australia's premier literacy and fundraising program, filled with exciting reading opportunities, rewards, games, and competitions. It's the Rewarding way for children and schools to read to change the lives of people living with Multiple Sclerosis.

    National Literacy and Numeracy Week
    A special week to celebrate the progress Australian schools are making in raising the literacy and numeracy levels of all students. National Literacy and Numeracy Week will showcase the hard work school communities have undertaken to increase their efforts to improve literacy and numeracy standards of students.

    National Simultaneous Storytime
    2011: Wednesday 25 May at 11.00 am.
    This year’s National Simultaneous Storytime book is Feathers for Phoebe by Rod Clement.
    Join Phoebe, the plain grey bird, as she searches for ways to make new friends using an array of brightly coloured costumes.

    Night with our Stars
    2011 : March 10th
    Each year since 2004, Westbooks Children's Book Centre, 396 Millpoint Rd, Victoria Park, has hosted Night with our Stars, featuring WA authors and illustrators speaking about their latest work.
