WelcomeThe Department of Education and Training (DET) operates seven camp schools. These are at Bridgetown, Broome, Dampier, Geraldton, Kalgoorlie, Pemberton and Point Peron. We believe a communal living environments away from the student's home and school provides new experiences through which student's best develop:
Our vision is to be the leading provider of high quality experiential educational learning programs that equip students to deal effectively with opportunities and challenges they encounter in a changing world. The camp school experience aims to increase students understandings of a range of concepts, processes and issues that form part of the normal school curriculum through direct experience and observation outside the classroom. Camp school programs are complementary to the formal classroom programs and provide teachers with opportunities to extend student learning in all Learning Areas in relevant, practical and supportive environments. Camp School Managers are qualified teachers accredited in First Aid and aquatic qualifications. They can assist in the formulation of programs for each user group and customise instructions to suit the various themes of each camp.
