The AEF is a Foundation of the Asialink Centre at the University of Melbourne and Curriculum Corporation funded by the Department of Employment, Education, Training and Youth Affairs (DEETYA).

It works with schools, state/territory government and non-government education agencies and institutions, philanthropic foundations and the corporate sector to achieve the following objectives:

	Promotion and support of the study of Asia across all curriculum areas.
	Development of Asia-related print and electronic materials.
	Promotion of the study of Asia through Professional Learning.
	Education of the broader community about the importance of young Australians engaging with Asia.

The AEF website is a key site for getting started, resources, professional learning and electronic news links and discussion groups.
