Connecting with Aboriginal Culture

Description

Connecting with Aboriginal Culture is an innovative professional development program for educators appointed to teach in schools with a significant Aboriginal population. This initiative has been coordinated by the Catholic Education Office of Western Australia on behalf of the State’s three school sectors: Government, Independent and Catholic.

It is expected that educators who engage with the professional development program will develop a better understanding of the social, cultural, environmental and educational issues that exist in a diverse range of contexts in Aboriginal communities.

Connecting with Aboriginal Culture is presented in a package of two CDs and a video.

Funding for the program was provided by the Australian Government under the Indigenous Strategic Initiatives Programme (IESIP), National Indigenous English Literacy and Numeracy Strategy (NIELNS) element.
