The Warren Blackwood Education District

The Warren Blackwood Education District extends to Boyup Brook in the north to Northcliffe in the east, Busselton and Augusta in the west. A map of the district area is on the Warren Blackwood District Education Office website.

The District has 26 schools with over 7600 students enrolled and 2 camp schools. Educational challenges in the area provide an opportunity to develop partnerships, as shown with the Margaret River Education Campus. The campus houses the school, universities, TAFE and industry links. Unique and innovative programs have been created to provide optimum learning outcomes for students.

The Aboriginal Education Strategic Plan is embedded in the District and school plans. This Strategy aims to accelerate the educational outcomes of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, promote sustainable change and improvement in education programs. The accelerated student outcomes, change and improvement will occur through the implementation of Aboriginal programs and strategic initiatives into mainstream education practice and operation.

Numerous Aboriginal programs and initiatives operate including cultural awareness programs throughout the District to increase Aboriginal participation in education and understanding of Aboriginal culture within school communities.
