CALM has offices in Geraldton, Carnarvon, Shark Bay, and Exmouth.
Mid West Development Commission Website
This site is useful for teachers who are teaching Upper Primary and High School students who want to do research for projects about Aboriginal Tourism and Aboriginal Art. The Indigenous Enterprise Development Officer can be contacted at Mid West Development Commission and is available to help teachers and/or students with funding applications and making 'mock' business plans.
Nhanda Wangganha Nhanda Wangganha Book
Nhanda speakers originally lived in the Kalbarri area. This resource is useful in the learning of the Nhanda language, giving correct spelling and pronunciation. It contains 500 words with pictures, a guide to spelling and reading Nhanda and an English finder-list. Available from the Yamaji Language Centre.

Wajarri Wangga Wajarri Wangga Book & Tape
Wadjarri speakers originally lived along the Murchison River. This resource is useful in the learning of the Wadjarri language giving correct spelling and pronunciation, as it contains a listing of Wadjarri words with English translations. All words are divided into sections such as body parts, birds, animals etc, plus there are some English words translated into Wadjarri. Available from the Yamaji Language Centre.
Waranygu Bayalgu Waranygu Bayalgu: Digging for Food Book
Useful for teachers and students to gain an understanding of how local Aboriginal people use the bush foods and what they are called, using Wadjarri name and botanical name with a coloured photograph. Includes Wadjarri pronunciation guide and wordlist. Available from the Yamaji Language Centre.

This corporation assists in the Native Title claims process and heritage. Yamatji Marlpa Barna Baba Maaja Aboriginal Corporation would be useful for teachers to engage with the resident anthropologist when they want to discuss issues such as Native Title.

There is a small range of books in the library on Aboriginal Education and working with Aboriginal children. There is also a wide range of books about Aboriginal people and some written by Aboriginal authors.

The museum offers a number of educational programs. Two programs of Aboriginal significance are "Bush Food and Medicine Plants of the Midwest" and "Conflict in the Midwest".

The Art Gallery has exhibitions throughout the year that have Aboriginal artist content. Public programs about Aboriginal art are provided during school hours and some evenings.

The library has a range of books, videos, DVDs, reports, vertical file clippings, statistics and historical photographs of Aboriginal significance. Aboriginal oral histories are also available; these can only be accessed with permission from an Aboriginal elder. There is a limited amount of Aboriginal genealogy.

Geraldton Streetwork Aboriginal Corporation WA have set up a working farm on 300 acres for Youth on Community Service Orders to take part in various horticultural activities.
Marra Aboriginal Art Gallery Marra Aboriginal Art Gallery Geraldton
The Gallery has been operating since 2000 and is 100% Aboriginal owned and operated. Authentic Aboriginal artwork by local Aboriginal artists from around the Mid west region is on display and sold at the Gallery. Teachers can use the Gallery to find names of locally based Aboriginal artists or to show students works produced by local artists.
Marra Aboriginal Art Gallery Mid West Resource and Video Centre Geraldton
This resource centre can only be accessed by schools and it has a vast supply of resources suitable to assist teachers in the classroom. There is also a variety of Aboriginal videos, books and jigsaw puzzles.

The Yamaji Cultural Trail is a half day tour that relates stories of the Naaguja people.
Yamaji Irra Wangga Yamaji Irra Wangga (Geraldton Language Programme) Geraldton
The Geraldton Language Programme, which is located in Holland Street, commenced on 1st July 2005. The Language Programme aims to retrieve, preserve, maintain and promote the Indigenous Languages of this region. Future aims are to produce resources for schools and the community. Yamaji Language Centre Geraldton
The Centre aims to retrieve, preserve, maintain and promote the Indigenous Languages of the Yamaji region. It does this in a number of ways, including working with schools to teach language to young children, promoting Aboriginal culture and languages via their Yamaji News newspaper (a publication of the Centre), and much more.
Blue Ochre Art Gallery Northampton
Blue Ochre Gallery is located some 10kms south of Northampton off the Northwest Coastal Highway. The Gallery is owned and operated by Noongar artist Margaret Danischewski and it has art work from herself and her daughter Naomi.
Tardun Monastery Christian Brothers Agricultural School Tardun
In 1928, a group of Beagle Bay Missionaries, together with Beagle Bay Aborigines, established the Tardun farm. These early beginnings have now developed into a boarding school for junior high school boys. Teachers in the Mid West District would find this place significant if they were teaching about the establishment of mission schools in the Mid West.
Mt Augustus Gascoyne Development Commission Carnarvon
The office is situated in Carnarvon and the Aboriginal Economic Development Officer is available to assist teachers in the Gascoyne Region with Aboriginal art, crafts and musicians. The officer can also be contacted by teachers when they want to resource local Aboriginal elders.
Karalundi Aboriginal Education Centre Meekathara
Karalundi is a boarding school that provides a Christian education for Aboriginal students in the Mid West, Kimberley, Pilbara and Goldfields Districts. The school began in 1953 and therefore has a long history with Aboriginal families in the district. Teachers in close proximity to Karalundi would find it mutually beneficial to network with the staff at the school, gaining support and encouragement in their teaching experience.
Meekatharra Peace Gorge Meeka Rangelands Discovery Trail Meekathara
This 3km walk around Meekatharra Creek offers fascinating facts about Meekatharra’s history, Indigenous culture and natural wonders. Alternatively, learn about the culture and history of the Ngoonooru Wadjari and Yugunga-Nya people on the lookout trail.
Walga Rock Walga Rock & Wilgie Mia Cue
Two significant Aboriginal sites; Walga Rock features the display of Aboriginal rock paintings in WA, including that of a rigged sailing ship, even though the rock is over 300 km from the coast. Wilgie Mia is an ochre mine that has been in use by Aborigines for at least 1,000 years.
