Reporting

Digital MSE9 and WALNA student results

School and student results are now available on the Educational Assessment Reporting System (EARS) software. This application provides an easy tool for viewing and investigating the test data.

EARS Support Manual

Click here to access comprehensive information about how to get the best out of EARS.

Download upgraded EARS file

To download the latest upgrade of EARS, click on the link below. You will be given the choice to ‘run’ or ‘save’. Select ‘save’, and choose a folder in which to save the application file. This needs to be in the same folder as your school's data file.

EARS Upgrade

If you have multiple copies of EARS saved in different locations for different users, all copies should be overwritten as some corrections have been made to the application (in addition to upgrading functionality).

Help and Information

Help and Information can be found by clicking the "Help and Information" button on the front screen of EARS.

Printing

Open the display you wish to print (Students, Assessment Data Student Distribution or Performance Profile). Click on 'file' and select 'Print'.

To adjust your printer's settings, click on 'File' and select 'Print Setup'

Exporting data to excel

In the data display screens for each assessment area, there is an option in the ‘file’ menu to 'export data'. This allows you to save a .csv file. After naming and saving this file, it can be opened directly in Excel by double-clicking on the icon.

2005 Corrections

On the 2005 WALNA version of the School Reporting System sent to you on CD, in the Student Distribution for Year 7 Numeracy, the 75th percentile is shown at the incorrect location on the WAMSE scale. The percentages in the middle and top percentile bands were consequently also incorrect.

On the MSE9 version of the School Reporting System, the level boundaries for writing were incorrect.

Upgrading the application will correct these problems. We apologise for any inconvenience caused to users.

Additional Information

The excel electronic workbook has been phased out. The new Educational Assessment Reporting System provides the same data displays as the old Excel electronic workbook in a form which is easier to navigate and which provides other advantages, such as the facility to automatically set filters for subgroups such as classes.
