The Assessments

The MSE9 program assesses English, Mathematics and Science. The following sample test papers are an indication of the question formats and contexts used in the MSE9 test papers.

The assessment materials are developed to reflect good classroom practice and provide the opportunity for all students of all levels to perform to the maximum of their abilities.

Extensive consultation with classroom teachers has been a feature of the development of the MSE9 assessment materials. The assessments have been written to cater for the diverse range of students in Western Australian schools, and to ensure that there is no systematic bias associated with such factors as gender, culture or geographic location.  All assessments explicitly align to the Curriculum Framework and Outcomes and Standards Framework (known as Progress Maps in non-government systems).

The curriculum areas of English, Mathematics and Science are assessed. The following sample test papers are an indication of the question formats and contexts used in the MSE9 test papers.
