Time for Talk

Description

Time for Talk is a resource package developed by the Department of Education and Training of Western Australia. The resource provides teachers with a tool for monitoring oral language development and suggests a range of classroom strategies to facilitate oral language development in a culturally sensitive way.

The resource kit consists of three components:

1. Oral Language Instructional Manual
Sampling and profiling materials provide a developmentally based framework and linked assessment tasks for monitoring students' oral language development in the K-3 age range.

The package can be used for:

2. Instructional Video
The video includes footage of oral language activities and the perceptions of teachers who use the materials.

3. Classroom Activities
This booklet provides activities to be used as frameworks, to be adapted and modifies to suit individual children and school situations.
