The Australian Government is currently negotiating funding arrangements for the continuation of the Indigenous Tutorial Assistance Scheme (ITAS). Until these negotiations are completed allocation of ITAS funding to schools cannot commence. Further correspondence regarding the ITAS program will be distributed via Ed-e-Mail.
Please note ITAS teachers/tutors will be appointed by individual schools. Preference will be given to trained teachers with WACOT membership. If you are a teacher but do not have a WACOT number you will not be paid at the teacher rate. In exceptional circumstances where a teacher cannot be found tutors who are not teachers will be considered for the role.
Previous DEEWR tutors who have worked with Secondary students will need to advise schools of their availability in 2009.
