The Directorate supports a number of initiatives aimed at improving the attendance rates of Aboriginal students at school. Attendance Projects include:
Bus Program: Transport is provided to Queens Park Primary K-3 Annexe.
Dissemination of Best Practice: A study of best practice attendance programs has been undertaken by Kurongkurl Katitjin, Edith Cowan University. This study is being converted into a resource package for schools to assist them to implement appropriate attendance strategies.
Community Capacity Building: Aims to improve attendance in the Kimberly and Pilbara. The project provides professional development aimed at engaging the Aboriginal community in schools.
