Year 10 Visit to Curtin University

The School Pathways Program – Defence Industries in partnership with Curtin University  on 26 June 2012 held a 1 day workshop for students of John Tonkin College. Twenty two students and two teachers attended.

The day included an overview of the University, courses offered and the facilities available. Students attended a workshop with the Head of Engineering Faculty who provided an overview of the range of Engineering pathways.

Students were provided with an overview of relevant skills and abilities gained as a result of the University Engineering courses. Students were provided with an opportunity to involved in an OSH exercise related to Engineering.

Students were provided with an overview of the links with higher education pathways relevant to careers in defence and allied industries.

Teacher Feedback

All students had a fun, exciting and educational day.

The Curtin University Link-Up program aims at linking High School students with Curtin University. They offer an exciting and innovative program from year 8 to year 12 aiming at helping the student to consider university as an option when they leave school.
