VacSwim Programs operate in the October and December/January school holidays.
Make sure of your place by pre-enrolling before the closing date.
With swimming pools and beaches a part of our Western Australian lifestyle, ensuring your child can swim competently and safely is a must for all families. VacSwim is for children from beginner through to advanced survival, rescue and resuscitation.
Your child can join in the fun of learning to swim with lessons in a standard 10 day (or equivalent) VacSwim program for a small enrolment fee plus pool entry. There is also a discount if you are enrolling a family of three or more children.
VacSwim has grown from its beginnings in 1919 when five instructors taught 248 children at three venues, to become the largest vacation swimming program in Australia. In recent years 55 000 children have participated yearly in lessons with more than 1500 qualified instructors at over 200 locations throughout the State.
VacSwim gives all Western Australians aged between 5 and 17 years the opportunity to participate in a safe, quality swimming and water safety program. You may be asked to produce proof of age.
Classes are allocated according to ability and not age. However, there are two exceptions:
VacSwim lessons cost just $12.50 for a 10 day program or equivalent contact time*. The cost does not include pool entry fees. Classes are conducted at indoor and outdoor pools and open water venues.
Your children can join in the fun of learning to swim with VacSwim. It's even cheaper if you have three or more children.
$12.50 a person for a 10 day standard program
$34.50 a family* for a 10 day standard program
$6.50 a person for a 5 day short program (excludes Early Start Program)
$17.50 a family* for a 5 day short program (excludes Early Start Program)
* The family rate applies to three or more immediate family siblings who all live at the address stated on their VacSwim account.
A separate entry fee may be required at centres for participants and accompanying spectators. Where information is available, the entry fee has been listed alongside the centre in the Program and Locations section. These fees are subject to change. Please contact your preferred centre(s) for further details.
