The Australian Sustainable Schools Initiative - WA (AuSSI - WA) is part of the national Australian Sustainable Schools Initiative,
developed by the Australian Government (Department of Sustainability, Environment, Water, Population and Communities) in cooperation with State
and Territory education and environment agencies, and other key organisations...
AuSSI-WA is a whole-school planning framework that promotes and supports the use of 'sustainability' as a key context for
teaching and learning, and school organisation. The toolkit contains a range of resources to support schools on this pathway.
The concept of sustainability is reflected by 12 interconnected 'action learning areas'; this has supported schools to focus
on particular activities over time as part of their respective 'journeys towards becoming a sustainable school'.
Climate change is the change in our weather patterns that is occurring because of an increase in the earth's average temperature.
Human beings have been identified as responsible for a significant amount of climate change activity and we have a shared responsibility for taking action to minimise this.
