Literacy Numeracy Partnership Project

The Literacy and Numeracy Partnership Project (LNPP) aims to lift student performance in literacy and numeracy as measured by NAPLAN, using strategies demonstrated to be successful from the 2010 – 2011 Literacy and Numeracy National Partnership (LNNP) program.

The LNPP provides 66 identified schools and 8 self-funded schools with the opportunity to work in partnership with the Department to identify and implement evidence-based interventions that complement and strengthen each school’s commitment to improving students’ literacy and numeracy achievement.

The three key reform areas of the LNPP are::

  • effective and evidence-based teaching of literacy and numeracy
  • strong school leadership and whole-school engagement with literacy and numeracy
  • monitoring of student and school literacy and numeracy performance to identify where support is needed

To achieve sustained improvement individual students who are not achieving their potential in literacy and/or numeracy will have access to specific intervention programs and support. Teachers will access professional learning focused on accelerating student improvement.
