Develop the potential in your child

Applications for placement to Gifted and Talented programs have now closed.

The programs are offered at 17 select public secondary schools and are for:

  • children entering Year 6 in 2012 – for entry into Gifted and Talented programs in 2014 when they start Year 8; and
  • children entering Years 7, 8, 9 and 10 in 2012 – for ‘top-up’ places in select programs in 2013 where vacancies may become available.

Visit the For Parents section of this website to find out more about the programs and to apply online.

Evaluation and Accountability director Alan Dodson said an academic, arts or languages program would give children the opportunity to study an enriched curriculum with access and links to universities and industry bodies.

“Your child will be taught by experienced teachers with specialist knowledge who will develop their talents and help them achieve their dreams,” he said.

“Children study with other gifted students and follow a curriculum designed specifically for their needs. They enjoy a rich learning environment that is challenging and stimulating.”

Students will also have contact with leading industry professionals, take part in competitions at national and international levels and have access to mentoring programs.

Applications close at 12.00 noon on Tuesday 6 March 2012.
