The competitions, awards and scholarships listed are just a sample of some of which can be particularly challenging for students and allow opportunities for individual and group endeavour.

  • Australian Mathematics Trust
    This site provides information regarding the;

  • Australian National Science Week
    National Science Week is nation-wide celebration of every aspect of science - when museums and corporations, universities, galleries, research centres and schools open their doors to invite everyone in for a look around.
  • CSIRO Online
    The Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO) operate a range of exciting science education projects. This site links students, schools and the community to The Double Helix Science Club, the BHP Billeton Science Award, The Science Challenge, Scienceathon and many more exciting links and programs.
  • Dorothea Mackellar Poetry Awards
    The aim of the Dorothea Mackellar Poetry Awards is to capture the imagination of every school student in Australia, inspiring them with a passion for poetry. It is a unique national project, giving Australia's young people a voice and an opportunity to strive for excellence in literature.
  • District High Schools Country Week Awards
    The Department of Sport and Recreation and School Sport WA present the Active Achievers Country Week Awards annually. This award, which commenced in 1992, recognises outstanding contributions made by young women and men to their school and community. Each school participating in the 2003 School Sport WA Country District High Schools Carnival is invited to nominate students for this prestigious award.
  • Macquarie Bank Future Problem Solving Program
    Future Problem Solving is an international educational program for students of all ages from P - 12 that focuses on the development of creative thinking skills. In particular, it centres on the skills of problem identification and positive solutions to those problems.

  • SCRAM - Schools Conflict Resolution and Mediation
    SCRAM provides an enjoyable, dynamic way of introducing students to the mediation process. It is aimed at high school students and is an interactive role-play encouraging the development of mediation skills in secondary schools. The mediation is based on fictitious community based scenarios in which a team of 6 - 10 students is given background information on a problem.

    The design challenge is to create a product, process or concept in the most innovative and creative way that not only adds value to an Australian primary product but also teaches the youth of our country the importance of innovative ideas.
  • WA Youth Awards
    The WA Youth Awards recognise and reward outstanding young Western Australians aged 13 to 25 years. Entering a young person for an award is an opportunity to highlight their strengths and achievements. It is a chance to demonstrate to the wider community the hard work and dedication of young people.
