Amy Dickerson is from the small country town of Wandering and is currently a Year 10 student
at Boddington District High School, where she is involved in the Selective Academic Program Online. Amy is particularly interested
in English and History and has received a number of academic awards for these subjects and others. In 2007 she won the Vi
Barham Academic Award for Excellence, and this year was named the State Winner in the Women Beating the Odds category for
the National History Challenge. Amy takes part in after-school activities such as netball and tennis. Amy also has a passion
for writing, and one day hopes to pursue this further.
The Premier’s ANZAC Student Tour 2010 will be Amy’s first experience in overseas travel, and she is proud and
honoured to have been chosen to travel to battlefields where so many Australian soldiers fought. She is looking forward to
being able to walk the ground that the Australian’s in World War One walked, and to see the places where they fought
but also to learn about and experience the difference in cultures.
