Savouring Singapore is a collaborative venture between the Singapore Tourism Board, the Asia Education Foundation - Access Asia Western Australia, and the Department of Education and Training Western Australia.
A middle childhood/early adolescent cross-curricular resource for teachers, Savouring Singapore explores the culture and diversity of Singapore and its people in historical and contemporary contexts. Through background readings, lessons, and linking of content to relevant outcomes and scope and sequence statements in each learning area, teachers are provided with a range of opportunities to integrate ‘Studies of Asia and Australia’ into their learning and teaching program.
Savouring Singapore encourages students to respect difference, value diversity of cultural expression and develop an understanding of world views. Through providing learning opportunities to develop these values, teachers facilitate students’ ability to make meaning of, and engage with, contemporary Australian society.
